Mrs. Anandeswary Suryaprakasan, who was born in Chavakachcheri, Jaffna on 24th May 1940 and resided in Raynes Park, London, UK, passed away on Friday 21st February 2025.
Anandhi worked at the BBC as a journalist and broadcaster for 30 years, and was a leading figure in the BBC Tamil Service (Tamilosai) during that time. She will be always remembered for her exclusive interview with Prabakharan, the Leader of the Tamil Tigers for the BBC.
She is the beloved daughter of Late Mr. & Mrs. Subramaniam,
And daughter-in-law of late Mr. & Mrs. Sivasamy,
Beloved wife of late Mr Suryaprakasan,
Beloved mother of late Poorani & Sakthi and loving grandmother of Cheran,
Beloved sister of Chandreswary (Sandra), late Baskaran, late Sritharan, Suguneswary (Suguna), Manoharan & Inthumathy (Inthu),
Beloved aunty to nieces & nephews.
