தோற்றம்: 12 நவம்பர் 1957 - மறைவு: 20 டிசம்பர் 2020

யாழ்ப்பாணம் வல்வெட்டித்துறையை பிறப்பிடமாகவும் அமெரிக்காவை (Houston Texas USA) வதிவிடமாகவும் கொண்ட டாக்டர். பிலிப் மோகன் சவுந்தரராஜ் அவர்கள் 20-12-2020ம் திகதி ஞாயிற்றுக்கிழமை அன்று அமெரிக்காவில் காலமானார்.

அன்னார் காலம் சென்றவர்களான திரு திருமதி சவுந்தரராஜ் மேரி ரீட்டா தம்பதிகளின் சிரேஸ்ட புதல்வரும்,

இந்திராவின் அன்பு கணவரும்,

நொயிலின் விநோதினி(Swiss), எட்வேட் சசீதரன்( Canada), அண்ட்ரூ றஞ்சிதன்(Canada)

ஆகியோரின் அன்பு சகோதரனும் ஆவார்.

இவ் அறிவித்தலை உற்றார், உறவினர், நண்பர்கள் அனைவரும் ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளுமாறு கேட்டுக்கொள்கின்றோம்.

Philip studied at the Little Flower Convent (Bandarawela), St. Michael’s College (Batticaloa) and St.Peter’s College (Colombo) before joining Royal College (Colombo) where he sat for his GCE Ordinary and Advanced Level Exams. He earned a B.Sc. with distinction in Physics from University of Jaffna and became an Assistant Lecturer of Physics at the same University.

Philip was awarded a Graduate Fellowship at Vanderbilt University (Nashville, Tennessee) from where he earned an M.S. in Physics and a Ph.D. in Surface Physics. He joined Schlumberger-Houston Downhole Services as a Project Engineer in 1990 and was seconded as a Research Scientist in 1996 to Schlumberger Cambridge Research, Cambridge, UK.

Philip married Indra on December 29th, 1996 in Stamford, CT and Indra then joined Philip in Cambridge.

Philip moved back to Schlumberger Doll-Research in Ridgefield, CT in 1998 as a Senior Research Scientist and was employed there until 2004. During this period, Philip also went on a secondment to Schlumberger Technology Center in Abingdon, near Oxford, UK.

In 2004, Philip joined Scicom International in Houston, Texas as a Senior Consultant and following corporate acquisitions continued working in that role at SAIC and Wipro Technologies.

Philip suffered a stroke in 2012 and continued to work until 2016 when he went on Long Term Disability.

Philip was an avid reader and passionate about Science, Technology and Chess.

Philip was a gentleman to his fingertips who listened not to your words but to your hearts. Always loving, caring, attentive to others’ needs - sympathy and empathy were his sterling qualities. A highly educated and accomplished Research Scientist in the Oil and Gas Industry, Philip was unassuming in manner and endeared himself to everyone around him.
