Dr. S. Balakumar, the former Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Jaffna and the Head of the Department of Biochemistry, who was born and lived in Navindil, Point Pedro, Jaffna passed away peacefully and ws embraced by God on Tuesday, 12 April, 2022.
Beyond Academia, he excelled as a great person in Social Services to the Community.
His loss is irreperable not only to the University of Jaffna, but also to the Medical Services in Jaffna.
