Date of Birth: 02 November 1931 - Deceased: 28 July 2021

Dr. Selvadurai Sivam Ganeshanandan passed away at home on Wednesday, July 28th, 2021, at the age of 89.

Born on the 2nd of November 1931, he was a Veterinary Surgeon, a Master's Degree holder from Tokyo University, was the Deputy Director at the Ministry of Rural and Industrial Development, and was a Director at the British Refugees Council.  He was a highly respected and loved pillar in the communities he was part of in Batticaloa, Jaffna, Peradeniya, Tokyo, Colombo and London.

Dr. Ganeshanandan is survived by his wife Saratha Ganeshanandan,
 
His two sons Ratnanandan (Gloucester, UK) and Sivanandan (Singapore),
 
His daughters in law Dr. Shiyamala Ratnanandan and Tricia Feng, and
 
His four grandchildren Rudran, Aran, Logan and Kanya.

He was the son of late Mr. Nallathamy Selvadurai and the late Mrs. Nallathamby Rasaretnam of Kallady Batticaloa,
 
And the only brother to four sisters Thiraviyam, Amirtham, Jeyam and Ranjitham. 'Raasa' will be greatly missed by his surviving sisters Jeyam and Ranjitham, his cousins, and all his nephews and nieces, and their children.
 
He will be missed for his wisdom and humour by all his relatives, his many friends and all those who came in contact with him in the UK, Sri Lanka and many other parts of the world.

His funeral will be held in Gloucester on Tuesday, 03 August 2021. Hindu rites will be performed at his residence commencing at 12:00. Cremation will be at the Coney Hill Crematorium (Coney Hill Rd, Gloucester GL4 4PA) commencing at 15:00.
