It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Evangel Thevapirian (Pirian) Aseervatham on Sunday, 15 August 2021. 

Pirian was the precious husband of Serena ,
 
And much loved and adored father of Dharshana and Roshana, 

He was the son of the late Reverend S.T. Aseervatham (C.S.I.) and the late Gnani Aseervatham,

Pirian was the beloved brother and brother-in-law of Dr. Seyan and Dr. Mrs. Vimalini Aseervatham (Newcastle, Aust.), Mithiran and Premi Aseervatham (Huddersfield, U.K.), Nesa and Usha Gnanaratnam, Christine and Ian De Silva, and Edward and Nirmala Gnanaratnam.
 
He was also a much loved uncle and great-uncle.  

Pirian (also known as Evangel) lived in the Riverina region between 1984 to 2009. He started life in Finley, which he called home. He worked at Water Resources and then moved to Deniliquin where he worked at Murray Irrigation Ltd. He was committed to supporting the migrant communities in Finley, Deniliquin and the wider Riverina region for over 30 years. He was a committed Rotarian and was involved in many community initiatives.

Pirian was a long-standing member of the STCF community and the Tamil Church of NSW, and he was involved with the Senior Choirs of both churches. He was passionate about supporting evangelical ministries through his tireless church work.

Pirian was a dedicated member of the alumni associations of Drieberg College and Jaffna College.

Funeral Sevice:
Date and Time: Saturday 21 August 2021 at 11am AEST (Sydney time)
Place: Uniting Church in Strathfield followed by a private burial.
