Dr. Gnana Sunderam was a man of immense intellect, quick wit, and an unshakeable love for life-a man who was truly "Born to Be Alive." As a dedicated doctor, he spent his career caring for others with deep compassion and unmatched intelligence. Outside of medicine, he was a friend to all, brother, husband, and father. He brought people together with his infectious energy, always seizing the opportunity to throw a party, light up the dance floor or take the microphone.
Of all his life's great achievements and titles, his absolute favorite was being "Papa" to his eight adoring grandchildren. He leaves behind a legacy of deep love, sharp humor, and unforgettable celebration. May we all dance a little longer and live as though we, too, were born to be alive.
A Funeral Service will be held at Quinn Hopping Funeral Home (145 East Mount Pleasant Ave, Livingston, NJ 07039, US), on August 3, 2026, from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm.
A Prayer Service will be held at (Rosedale Cemetery, 408 Orange Rd, Montclair, NJ 07042, US), on August 3, 2026, from 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm.
