Mr. Kailayapillai Gejaratnam, who was born in Nilaveli, Trincomalee, and lived recently in Inuvil, Jaffna, passed away peacefully and was embraced by God on Saturday, 13 February 2021. He was 106 Years old.
He is the beloved son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Kailayapillai and Manickam,
Loving son in law of the late Mr. and Mrs. Sabapathypillai and Kanagammah,
Beloved husband of the late Lakshmipillai,
Ever loving father of Rajanayaki (Irupalai), Chithravelayuthan (Retired Deputy Director of Education – English, Trincomalee), Maheswary (deceased – Nilaveli), Thavarajah (Retired Velanai Regional Secretary) and Tharmakularajah (Retired Registrar, High Court, Trincomalee),
Kind and loving brother of Kanagaratnam,
Loving brother in law of the late Selvarajah and Muthurajah,
Loving father in law of Thillaiampalam (deceased), Thillainathan, Gunaranjithamalar,
Sakunthaladevi, Sellanatchiyar and Thiyagarajah,
Affectionate grandfather of Subhathra- Ratnarajah (Swiss), Sumathy -Kugatheesan (Canada),
Subhajini -Premakanthan (Inuvil), Surendran -Menaka (Neervely), Surenthi -Sivanathan (Irupalai), Gajapathy -Mathuranthaki, Gajaraj -Sugirtha (Australia), Mayuran (Lecturer, University of Peradeniya), Sugirtha -Mugunthan, Praparuban -Shantharubi, Suganthan - Sangeetha (UK), Vasuki -Shathurshan, Narayani, Elilini, Jegaruban -Tharani, Gajaruban -Nithya and Sivaruban -Sritharshika,
Dearly loving great grandfather of Vithahan, Vithahi, Varna, Cheliyan, Giritharan, Brintha, Praveena, Prahashini, Arulini, Pranavi, Dhakshayini, Kesavi, Vithiyan, Vishalini, Tharmika, Mathuri, Gowshikan, Mathushikan, Mathumai, Nilashan, Praheeshan, Yugakeeshan and Sridharshan.
His funeral and final rites functions will be conducted on Sunday, 14 February 2021 at around 03:00 PM, at Thavarajah’s residence in Inuvil, followed by Cremation at the Inuvil Karaikal Hindu Cemetery.
