It is with profound sadness and heavy heart the family shares the passing away of Dr. Kumarasooriyar Kumaravelu, MD, aged 58, on Sunday, 26th September 2021.
Dr. Kumar, a Board Certified Pediatrician, was a Medical Director at Priority Primary Care, LLC and with Health First CHC in Kentucky, USA. Formerly of Blanchfield Army Community Hospital, Fort Campbell KY, Bell Clinic, Elkton KY and Cabell Platt Medical Center, Henderson KY.
He was born in Nainathivu, Sri Lanka and lived in Jaffna, Sri Lanka and Clarksville, Tennessee. Dr. Kumar attended Jaffna Hindu College (1982 A/L), graduated from St. George’s University in Grenada, West Indies and completed his Pediatrics Residency at one of the leading children’s hospitals in the United States, the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ).
Dr. Kumar was the beloved son of late Mr. S. Kumaravelu and the late Mrs. Maheswari,
And the loving son in law of Mr. Lloyd George Purcell and the late Mrs. Matilda Purcell.
He is survived by his beloved wife Elizabeth Kumaravelu, and his
Precious children Mahesan, Anand and Divya,
Ever loving and adored brother of Sivanandan, Satchithananthan, Kuganananthan, Saravanapavananthan, Sivapatham, Rajeswaran, Kailasanathan, Gnanapoorani and Ketharapoorani.
Loving brother in law of Sarojinidevi, Parimala, Jeyamalar, Nagarathinam, Rooparani, Jeyagowri, Naguleswari, Sritharan, Gnanakanthan, Carol Purcell, Yvonne Purcell and Francis Purcell.
