Mr. (Lion) P. K. Balasingam Balashankar (Managerial Assistant – Regional Council, Ududvil;Former President, Lions Club, Nallur), who was born and lived in Sivalingapuliyady,Vannarponnai, Jaffna passed away, and was embraced by God on Sunday, September 20, 2020.
He is the beloved eldest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. P. K. Balasingam (“Padiyaathavan” -
Retired Teaching Consultant – Science) and SIvapathymalar,
Loving son in law of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thangarajah and Chandradevi,
Beloved husband of Prabalini (Assistant Manager – SLT, Jaffna),
Ever loving father of Balarishanth (Old Boy- Jaffna Hindu College; 2017 A/L; HND in Quantity
Surveying), Balasivanujan (Old Boy- Jaffna Hindu College; 2019 A/L) and Balasujith (Student at
Jaffna Hindu College; Grade 9),
Kind and loving brother of Balamayurahan (Canada),
Loving brother in law of Shobana,
Loving uncle (Periyappah) of Kowshik and Ashwin (Canada),
Affectionate foster son of the late Kumarakulasingam- Thavamani, Selvi Yougeswary (Retired
Acting Principal- Jaffna Hindu Ladies College), Rajeswary (Retired Acting Principal- Muslim Maha
Vidyalayam, Vavuniya), Suntharanadarajan (Retired Principal), Ratneswary (Retired Officer –
Regional Council, Uduvil) and the late Jeyabalan,
Loving brother in law of Thayalini, Mahendrarajah (Swiss) and Shalini (Swiss),
Loving foster brother of Jeyanthan (Principal – Vasavilan Central College), Ragupathy and
Valarmathi (Swiss),
Loving nephew of the late Sivagnanaguru- Buvaneswary, the late Sivalingam, and also of
Kanthimathi, the late Sivapalan (Shroff) and also of Kanagamani.
Following funeral functions from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM, his remains will be cremated at the
Kombayanmanal Hindu Cemetery on Tuesday, September 22, 2020.
