Mrs. Mangaiyarkarasi Gunaratnam, who was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and lived in Paruthiyolai, Kantharodai, Jaffna, and Wellawatte, Colombo passed away peacefully and was embraced by God on Friday, 31 December 2021.
She is the beloved daughter of the late Balasingam and Nageswary,
Beloved wife of the late Gunaratnam,
Ever loving mother of Shailaji (Suthu -USA) and Prashath (Ajith -Canada),
Loving mother in law of Easwaran (USA) and Balini (Canada),
Affectionate grandmother of Shyalan,
Kind and Loving sister of Sriratnam (Appu -Australia), Gangeswaran (deceased), Mahendran (Thuraiyan -Colombo), Shanmugendran (Appan -Germany) and Malini (Rathi -Canada).
Her remains will lie in state for paying tributes from around 09:00 AM on Sunday, 02 January 2022 at the Mahinda Florist, at Mount Lavania, with funeral and final rites functions conducted at around 11:00 AM followed by cremation at around 02:00 PM at the Mount Lavania General Cemetery – Hindu Section.
