It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Captain Mankkaleswaran Markandu, fondly known as Captain Markandu, who passed away in Colombo on Thursday, March 27, 2025.
He later pursued a career at sea and served as a Ship Captain with Ceyline Shipping.
Beloved son of the late Mr. Markandu and the late Mrs. Kanagambihy,
Loving husband of Vanmathy,
Cherished father of Iyngaran and Sahithiya (both residing in the USA),
Dear brother of Malathy, Mallika, and Ganeshwaran (all residing in the UK).
His final viewing took place at A.F. Raymond’s Funeral Parlour on Saturday, March 29, followed by religious rites and cremation at the General Cemetery, Borella.
