Mr. Mathiaparanam Vivekananthan, who was born in Vannarponnai Jaffna, Sri Lanka and lived in Wellawatte, Colombo. 6, passed away peacefully on Sunday, 05 December 2021.
He is the son of Mr. Sinnathamby Mathiaparanam of Jaffna and Mrs. Elaiyammah Mathiaparanam of Kantharodai.
He is the beloved brother of the following 8 siblings, Late Mrs.Kamalathevy Thavarajah, Mrs. Nalayinithevy Kanagasabai [Sri Lanka ], Late Mr. M. Bavananthan, Mr. M. Sarvananthan[Germany], Dr. M. Sreetharan [U.K], Mrs. Srithevy Soccalingam [Canada], Mrs.Chiyamalathevy Muhunthan [Sri Lanka] and Dr. M. Krishnananthan [Australia], and the beloved Step Brother of Mr. M. Kandiah.
He was brought up at “Kamalapathy", 34 Bazaar Lane, Vannarponnai, Jaffna, and lived the latter part of his life in Wellawatte, Colombo 6, Sri Lanka. He worked for the Bank Of Ceylon, Land Registry Office and The Buildings Department. He was also a Justice of the Peace and as well as a very well respected member of the community.
He was known to be ever ready to help anyone in need. He will be remembered for his kindness and willingness to help, especially as he stepped up as the head of the family after his father’s demise in 1952. All of his siblings can attribute their success in life to his support and well wishes. He was in charge of Seva Dal Activities of Bhagavan Sree Sathya Sai Samiththi in Colombo for several years.He was very well connected to Siva Yoga Swamigal Thiruvadi Nilayam at 53, Vivekananda Road, Wellawatte, Colmbo 6, Sri Lanka from the very first inception.
He reached the Lotus Feet of The Almighty at 8.00 AM on Sunday, 05 December 2021.
The Hindu funeral rites to be conducted at 8.30 AM on Monday, 06 December 2021 at Jayaratne Parlour – Kalubowila and Cremation at 10.30 AM at Kohuwala Crematorium were organised and facilitated by his cousin Mrs. Karuneswari Brindaban and her daughter Mrs. Thaksha Ramesh.
