Mr. Nagalingam Tharmalingam, who was born in New Road, Karainagar, Jaffna, and lived in Rudra Mawatha, Wellawatte, Colombo passed away peacefully in Colombo and was embraced by God on Sunday, 27 February 2022.
He is the beloved son of the late Nagalingam and Valliammai.
Loving son in law of the late Ponnampalam and Parameswary.
Beloved husband of Swarnam (Thevi).
Ever loving father of Suthaharan (Husky Retailer, Canada), Prabaharan (Master of Science, Canada), Karthika (AAT, UK) and Ayngaran (Master of Engineering) and Ariharan (Master of Science, USA).
Loving father in law of Sinthuja (Canada), Dayani (B.Sc., Canada), Sayanthan (M.Sc., UK), Dayanthika (MBA) and Sabeena (B.Sc., USA)
Affectionate grandfather of Neyan, Sanush, Mahilini and Ruthwika.
Kind and loving brother of the late Sundaralingam (Lingam Stores) and Packiyalakshmi (Colombo), and also of Mahalingam (Lingam Stores), Rathidevi (Colombo), Sarojinidevi (Canada), Pathmasothy (London), Thanalakshmi (London), Amirthalingam (London) and Kamlambigai (Australia).
Loving brother in law of the late Selvarajah, Sabanayagam and Parameswaran, and also of Vijayalakshmi, NIrmaladevi, Nithiyananthan, Sivarajah, Jeeva and Sivapalan.
Also, the loving brother in law of Pathumavathy, Paranchothy, Paramarajah, Nagammah, Selvarajah (deceased), Kamaladevi, and the late Logeswary and Ratnasingam.
And the loving brother in law (Sammanthy) of Balachandran (Provincial Council Member, Karainagar), Nimaleswaran (Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation, Jaffna), Vigneswaran (Former Director of Education, Northern Province), Gunaratnam (S.V. Murugesu Owner) and Jegananthan (Businessman, France).
His remains will lie in state for paying tributes at the Jayaratne Parlour in Borella from 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM on Tuesday, 01 March 2022, then again on Wednesday, 02 March 2022 at his residence in New Road, Karainagar, Jaffna, with funeral and final rites functions conducted on Thursday, 03 March 2022 at around 08:00 AM, followed by Cremation at the Sambalodai Hindu Cemetery.
