"நவம்", கொழும்பு செயின்ட் ஜோசப் கல்லூரியிலும் பின்னர் கொழும்பு மருத்துவக் கல்லூரியிலும் கல்வி கற்று, 1962ம் ஆண்டு மருத்துவராக தகுதி பெற்றார். கல்முனை, டெல்டோட்டா, கேகாலை மற்றும் பின்னர் லிவர்பூல் (இங்கிலாந்து) ஆகிய இடங்களில் மருத்துவப் பணியில் ஈடுபட்டார்.
யாழ். மானிப்பாயைப் பிறப்பிடமாகவும், இலண்டனை வசிப்பிடமாகவும் கொண்டிருந்த திரு. நவரத்தினம் நவநீதராஜா அவர்கள் 19-04-206 ஞாயிற்றுக்கிழமை அன்று இலண்டனில் இறையடி சேர்ந்தார்.

காலஞ்சென்ற தவநீதராஜா (ஓய்வுபெற்ற ஆசிரியர்) அவர்களின் அன்புத் தம்பியும்,
Dr. பீட்ரிஸ் மேரி ஜெஸ்ஸி (ஸ்டானிஸ்லாஸ்) அவர்களின் அன்புக் கணவரும்,
சஞ்சயன், Dr. பிரிதிவா, தத்தெடுத்த மகள் மாணிக்கே ஆகியோரின் பாசமிகு தந்தையும்,
ஷோவ், சன்தோஷ், அலிசா, ஃபின் ஆகியோரின் ஆசைப் பேரனும் ஆவார்.
அன்னாரின் மதச் சடங்குகள் 03-05-2026 ஞாயிற்றுக்கிழமை அன்று அன்னாரது இல்லத்தில் நடைபெற்று, மதியம் 1.30 (BST) மணியளவில் South London Crematorium (Rowan Road, London SW16 5JG) இல் இறுதி நிகழ்வுகள் நடைபெறும்.

Mr. Navaratnam Navaneetharajah Born on 27 January 1934 in Manipay, Sri Lanka Passed away on 19 April 2026 in London, United Kingdom.
He was educated at St Joseph’s College, Colombo, and later at the Colombo Medical College, qualifying in 1962. He served in Kalmunai, Deltota, Kegalle, and later in Liverpool, England.
He was the beloved son of Chinappa Navaratnam and Katpaham Chelliah of Kurrukkadu, Urumpirai. He was predeceased by his brother Thavaneetharajah, a retired teacher and Royal College cricketer.
He is survived by his wife Dr Beatrice Mary Jessie (née Stanislaus); his children Sanjayan and Dr Prithiva Navaneetharajah; his adopted daughter Manike; and his grandchildren Shove, Santosh, Alisa, and Finn.
Navam will be remembered for his dedication to his profession, his gentle nature, and the lasting impact he made on his patients, family, and friends. A keen cricketer and later a golfer, he served as captain of Lee Park Golf Club in Liverpool and was a loyal member of the Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC).
The funeral will take place at 1.30 pm BST on 3 May 2026 at South London Crematorium (Rowan Road, London SW16 5JG), following a religious service held at home.
