With deep sorrow we hereby notify that Mrs. Pankajadevi Somaskanthan, who is a retired teacher of Jaffna Holy Family Convent Ladies College, and the beloved wife of Mr.Somaskanthan, who sincerely served 18 years of his teaching career in the teaching of Science and Sports at the Karainagar Hindu College, and is also currently serving as a retired Science Teaching Advisor.
Mrs. Pankajadevi Somaskanthan (Retired Teacher, Jaffna Holy Family Convent Ladies Maha
Vidyalayam) was from Viyapari Moolai, Point Pedro, Jaffna and lived at 327, Navalar Road,
Jaffna, passed away peacefully and was embraced by Lord Shiva on Friday, 26 February 2021.
She is the beloved daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. K. Kanagasabapathy and Sountharambigai,
Loving daughter in law of Mr. and Mrs. Arunachalam and Sivapackiyam,
Beloved wife of Mr. Somaskanthan (Retired Science Teaching Advisor),
Ever loving mother of Suthahar (Head of the Department of Computer Science, Jaffna University).
Loving mother in law of Elina (Teacher, St. Patrick’s College),
Kind and loving sister of Sethunayaki (USA), the late Ratnapoopathy, Dr. Ratnavadivel and
Shanmuganathan (Engineer), and also of Manonmani (Retired Teacher, Jaffna Hindu Ladies College), and the late Satgurunathan (Engineer),
Loving sister in law of the late Shanmuganathan, Sivapragasam (V.K.S), and also of Dr. Gunarathy (Australia), Selvalakshmi (Canada), Dr. Vasanthanathan (deceased) and Kirubavathy (UK).
Affectionate grandmother (Appammah) of Diroshan (St. John’s College) and Gopina (Chundikuli Ladies College).
Her funeral and final rites functions will be conducted on Sunday, 28 February 2021, and her remains will be taken for Cremation at around 10:30 AM to the Kombayanmanal Hindu Cemetery.
