With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Philomena "Leela" Constantine (née Manuelpillai). Born in Kayts, she made her home in Kandy, Sillalai, and later in Montreal, Canada.

A dedicated teacher by profession, she later devoted herself to raising her five children and serving as a mother figure to many others.

​Leela was an avid reader, a gifted storyteller, and the cornerstone of our family. Her warmth, strength, and unwavering love shaped generations. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, the late S.A. Constantine, a former teacher at St. Anthony’s College in Kandy.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and will be deeply missed by her children: Colin, Yvonne, Mervin, Tarrin, and Godwin; her daughters- and son-in-law: Maura, Pakiasothy, Shirley, Tanuja, and Roshana; her grandchildren: Charmaine, Charlene, Jeyan, Rajinth, Tharmini, Ranjith, Dinesh, Tanya, Theeran, Shannon, Leanne, and Jessica; and her great-grandchildren: Darcie, Ryan, Mia, Ella, Liya, Miri, Nikita, Niveditha, Isabelle, Caleb.

As per her wishes, a private service will be held on April 24^th with immediate family.
