Mr. Pillai Sittampalam peacefully passed away in Boca Raton, Florida on May 11th, 2023. Born to Kanapathipillai Sittampalam and Sittampalam Pooranam on June 1st, 1942 in the village of Kayts (Urkavarturai) on Venalai Island, off the coast of the Jaffna Peninsula of Sri Lanka, he lived a long, fruitful life around the world. After leaving University of Peradeniya in Kandy, Sri Lanka, he embarked to the United States, the country he would spend the rest of his life in. Arriving in 1977, he worked as part of the Inspector General’s office for the United States Department of the Treasury for over 30 years, earning many honors throughout that time. In that time, he moved around several places in New Jersey, including Scotch Plains and Watchung, while working at the World Trade Center in Lower Manhattan. After surviving the September 11th attacks in 2001, he, along with his wife, settled in Boca Raton, Florida, where he continued to work until retiring in 2010. He was the loving owner and friend of his pet Rosie. Loving brother of Sivabakiyaluxmy Manickavasagam, Rani Sittampalam, the late Rukumai Balasingam, and the late Indrani Nithananthan, Dear brother-in-law of Manikkavasagam Ponambalam, Pathmavathi Ponnuthurai, Maheshwary Santhalingam, the late Balasingam Kumaravelu, the late Nithananthan Thambiah and the late Poopathi Ponnaiya,
