Mrs. Ponmalar Thirugnanam
Date of Birth: 28 March 1934 - Deceased: 20 July 2021
Mrs. Ponmalar Thirugnanam, who was born in Urumpirai, Jaffna, and lived in Thirunelvely South and Vaddukoddai, and later in Toronto, Canada, passed away peacefully in Canada and was embraced by God on Tuesday, 20 July 2021.
She is the beloved daughter of the late Amirthalingam and Nagarathinam,
Beloved wife of Mr. Thirugnanam (Retired, Disciplinary Officer, Family Welfare Consultant),
Ever loving mother of Kalaranjini (Former Clerk, Sales Department, Commerce Department,Jaffna), Suriyakumar (Former Managerial Officer, Colombo), Uthayakumar (Canada), Sivakumar (Owner, Ariyabawan Saiva Hotel, Kaithady), Shanthini (Puthukudiyiripu), Kuganandini (Retired, Dance Teacher Consultant, Nuwara Eliya District) and Shamini (Retired Music Teacher, Trincomalee District),
Kind and Loving sister of Sivagurunathan -Thavamalar, Selvi, Pavalamalar and Sivalinganathan
(Retired Cashier, Jaffna Cop Patrol Set),
Loving mother in law of Iyampillai (Former Officer, Sales Department, Jaffna), Saroja (Chavakachcheri) and Dr. V. Radhakrishnan (President, Upcountry Peoples Front, Former Education and State Minister, Member of Parliament, Nuwara Eliya),
Affectionate grandmother of Dharshika, Shaveka Sayoraj, Thanoraj, Gajan, Janani, Janakan,
Kishiprashanth, Sinthuja, Thivaharan and Shalini.
Her funeral and final rites functions were conducted on Thursday, 22 July 2021 at around 03:00 PM in Canada.
