திருகோணமலையைப் பிறப்பிடமாகவும், யாழ். தெல்லப்பளை மற்றும் இந்தியா - சென்னையை வசிப்பிடமாகவும் கொண்ட திரு. ராஜேஸ்வரன் சரவணகுமார் அவர்கள் 15-01-2026 வியாழக்கிழமை அன்று சென்னையில் இறைவனடி சேர்ந்தார்.
அன்னார், காலஞ்சென்ற ராஜேஸ்வரன் - ஆதிநாயகி தம்பதியினரின் மகனும்,
காலஞ்சென்ற நாகநாதர் - அகிலநாயகி தம்பதியினரின் மருமகனும்,
சிவமணி அவர்களின் ஆருயிர் கணவரும்,
சுந்தரகுமாரி (சுந்தரி), குணசீலன் (ராஜூ), Dr. ராஜநாதன் (சந்தோஷ்) ஆகியோரின் பாசமிக்க தந்தையம்,
சௌந்தரராஜன்(ரவி), செல்வரஞ்சனி (ராஜி), Dr. தனுஜா (தனு) ஆகியோரின் மாமனாரும்
சுஷாந்த், ஆஷாந்த், அனிருதன், செய்யோன், தர்சா ஆகியோரின் ஆசைப் பேரனும்,
Dr. நிஷானி, அர்ஜீணா ஜெயம் ஆகியோரின் பூட்டனாரும் ஆவார்.
அன்னாரின் இறுதிக்கிரியைகள் 19-01-2026 திங்கட்கிழமை அன்று முற்பகல் 11:00 - 12:30 சென்னையில் நடைபெற்றது.
இவ் அறிவித்தலை உற்றார், உறவினர், நண்பர்கள் அனைவரும் ஏற்றுக் கொள்ளவும்.

அன்னாரின் ஆத்மா சாந்தியடைய எல்லாம் வல்ல இறைவனைப் பிரார்த்திப்பதோடு அவரது பிரிவால் துயருற்றிருக்கும் அவரது குடும்பத்தினருக்கும் எமது ஆழ்ந்த அனுதாபங்களைத் தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கின்றோம்.

With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Mr. Trincomalee Rajeswaran Saravanakumar, affectionately known as Papa Thambi, the beloved father of Ms. Sunthari, former President and current Secretary of the Union College Old Students’ Association (UK), and Mr. Kunaseelan Saravanakumar (Raju), my Union College batchmate.
He passed away peacefully on January 15, 2026, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
Born in Trincomalee, he later lived in Tellippalai, Sri Lanka, and Chennai, India. Papa Thambi lived a life guided by integrity, discipline, and deep devotion to his family—qualities that earned him great respect both personally and professionally.
He was the beloved son of the late Rajeswaran and Athinayaki; the devoted husband of Sivamani Saravanakumar, daughter of the late Naganathar and Ahilanayaki; and the loving father of:
• Suntharakumari Sounthararajan (Sunthari – Union College old student 85 O/L)
• Kunaseelan Saravanakumar (Raju – Union College old student 89 O/L)
• Dr. Rajeswaran Saravanakumar Raajanathan (Santhosh)
He was also the cherished father-in-law of Murugesu Sounthararajan (Ravi), Kunaseelan Selvarajini (Raji), and Dr. Thanusha Raajanathan (Thanu).
Papa Thambi was an adored grandfather of Shushaanth, Ashaanth, Aniruthan, Seiyyon, and Tharaa, a loving grandfather-in-law of Dr. Nishani, and a proud great-grandfather of Arjuna Jeyam Sounthararajan.
Final Farewell:
The funeral rites were held on Monday, January 19, 2026, in Chennai, between 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
On behalf of our family and the Union College community, our heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with the bereaving family during this difficult time. May her soul attain eternal peace at the feet of the Almighty.
