Mrs. Parameswary Rasiah
Date of Birth: 03 November 1932 - Deceased: 19 February 2022
Mrs. Parameswary Rasiah, who was born in Aruhampulam, Karainagar, Jaffna and lived near Saiva Maha Sabai, Karainagar, and later at No. 117, Oddumadam Road, Sivalingapuliyady, Jaffna, passed away peacefully and was embraced by God on Saturday morning, 19 February 2022.
She is the beloved eldest daughter of the late Kandiah and Sountharam,
Beloved wife of the late Rasiah (Town Overseet, PWD, Batticaloa),
Kind and loving sister of Chellappah (Vavuniya) (deceased), Dr. Erambu (Colombo), Selvaratnam
(Technical Officer, RDA) (deceased), Packiyam, Nadarajah, Nallammah, and the late Sundaramoorthy (all of Karainagar),
Ever loving mother of Sivakumaran (Retired Manager, Bank od Ceylon, Karainagar), Gunaratnam (Retired Chief Engineering Assistant, Water Resources Board, Jaffna), Sivapalan (Australia) and Sivaganeshan (Technical Officer, RDA),
Loving mother in law of Jeyalalitha, Sarojadevi, Kamalambigai and Lalithambal,
Affectionate grandmother of Sivadharshini Thayananthan, Sivaranjini Sivaruban, Vijayaragavan
(Engineering Assistant, Water Resource Board, Jaffna), Vijayadharshan (Engineering Assistant,
Water Resource Board, Jaffna), Prashanth, Lakshanth and Abhinaya,
Dearly loving great grandmother of Sarujan, Yuvishan and Siveenujan.
Her funeral and final rites functions were conducted at her residence at Sivalingapuliyady, at around 12:00 Noon, on Sunday, 20 February 2022, and her remains were taken for cremation to the Sambalodai Hindu Cemetery in Karainagar.
