Mr. Subramaniam Mylvaganam (Retired Post Master, and former Founder Secretary of Urumpirai Karunai Illam), who was born in Nainathivu, Ward No. 8, Jaffna, and lived in Urumpirai, and Wellawatte, Colombo, passed away peacefully in Colombo and was embraced by God on Sunday, 27 December 2020.
He is the beloved son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Subramaniam and Amaravathy,
Loving son in law of the late Mr. and Mrs. Kathirithamby and Yogammah,
Beloved husband of Sountharam (Retired Science Teacher, Urumpirai Hindu College),
Ever loving father of Ramani (London; former Stenographer, University College, Vavuniya), Manohari (Teacher, St. Trinity Central College, Nuwaraeliya), Baheerathy (Pharmacist, National Medicine Regulation Authority, NMRA, Colombo), and Mayurathy (France; former Teacher, Mandaithivu Maha Vidyalayam),
Kind and loving brother of the late Yogammah, Balasingam (Saivaneri Chemmal) and Selvarani,
and also of ‘Kalapooshanam’ Kanagaratnam (Retired, Auditor General Officer),
Loving father in law of Pushpaharan (London; former Teacher, Ragalle Tamil Maha Vidyalayam),
Kuberan (Teacher, Nallayan Ladies College, Nuwaraeliya), Sivananthan (Janatha Reel, Colombo)
and Senthilkumaran (France),
Loving brother in law of the late S. N. Mathiaparanam (Justice of the Peace) and also of Levadevi, Thillainayaki (Retired Music Teacher), the late Krishnasamy (Businessman) and Kanagammah, and also of Saraswathy Periyanayaki (Doctor, Negombo), Arumugam (Retired Deputy Shop Manager, CTB, Kondavil), Gunapoosani, and Kathiresapillai (Retired Education Officer, Velanai),
Also the loving brother in law (Sahalan) of the late Ratnasabapathy (Businessman), Sornalingm
(Businessman), Nadarajah (Retired Technical Officer), and also of Thilagavathy, and Varathalakshmi (Retired Principal, J/ Elaiyathamby Hindu Vidyalayam),
Loving ‘in-law’ (Sammanthy) of Mathiaparanam- Yogammah, Kulanthaivadivel -Vallipillai,
Thirunavukarasu -Saraswathy, and Paramalingam -Thavamany,
Affectionate grandfather of Sinthujan (Chemical Engineer, ITM POWER, UK), Abhirami
(Accountant, Tax & Link Company, London), Ilakshiya, Anushikan, Akshikan (Sri Lanka),
Aksharan, Akshitha and Abhisharan (France).
His remains will lie in state for final tributes and viewing at the Galkissa Mahinda Funeral
Parlour on Wednesday, 30 December 2020 from 09:00 AM to 01:00 PM, with the Funeral and Final Rites functions conducted at around 01:30 PM, followed by Cremation at the Galkissa Hindu Cemetery at around 4:00 PM.
