Mr. Subramaniam Navaratnam, who was born in Karuhambanai, Jaffna, and lived in Kollangkaladdi, Jaffna, passed away and was embraced by God on Saturday, May 16, 2020.
He is the beloved son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Subramaniam and Thangapillai,
Loving son in law of the late Mr. and Mrs. Kandiah and Thangamuthu,
Beloved husband of Annaluxmi,
Ever Loving father of Balamurali (Senior Lecturer, Sri Lanka Open University, Jaffna) and
Sivaharan (Senior Lecturer, Jaffna University),
Loving brother of the late Kangasabai (Vithanaiyar- Karuhambanai), Ponnuthurai (Myliddy), and
Kumaresapillai (Karuhambanai), and Mrs. Puvaneswary Ponmayilainathan (Australia),
Loving father in law of Sivananthini (Jaffna Municipal Council), Menaka (Senior Lecturer, Jaffna
University),
Affectiona,e grandfather of Akilesan, Aathikesan, Yathavan and Mathuvarshan,
Loving brother in law of the late Valliyammai and Nagulesawary, and Ponmayilainathan
(Australia), Nageswary, Rajarajeswary and Theivanaipillai,
Loving uncle (Siththappa) of Mahendran, Jeyendran, Vigneswaran, Arunthavarani, Vasanthi and
Anuradha, and the late Kesavamoorthy and Baheerathi,
Loving uncle (Mama) of Mythili, Janani, Ketheeswaran and Janakan.
Funeral and final rites were held on Sunday, May 17, 2020 at around 12:00 Noon at his son’s
(Balamurali) residence at 22 Karuvelady Lane, Kokuvil, Jaffna, followed by Cremation at around
2:00 PM at the Keerimalai Chemman Vaaykal Hindu Cemetery.
