Mr. Thambipillai Ponnambalam (Retired English Teacher), who was born in Idaipiddy,Karainagar, Jaffna, and lived in Ottawa, Canada, passed away in Ottawa, and was embraced by God on Tuesday, September 08, 2020.
He is the beloved youngest son the late Mr. and Mrs. Thambipillai (Retired Malayan Railway Station Master) and Lakshmi of Idaipiddy, Karainagar,
Loving son in law of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thiruvathar (former Owner, Thiruvathar & Bros, KKS Road, Jaffna) and Annammah of Karunkali, Karainagar,
Beloved husband of Sarojinidevi,
Ever loving father of Krishnaveni, Muthuthambipillai, Vettivel and Anbalagan and Arulalagan
(both Maaveerar),
Loving father in law of Sothinathan, Vanaja and Niranjana,
Kind and loving brother of the late Maheswary and also of Saraswathy (Retired Teacher, Holy
Family Convent, Colombo), Jegatheesan (Retired Railway Station Master, Malaysia), Packiyam (Canada), Rajeswary and Ratneswary,
Loving brother in law of the late Arumugam (Retired Principal) and Nalliah, and also of Thambipillai (Parliament, Translator), the late Annarathinam(Malesia), Sivasothy (Overseer), Iyampillai, Kathiravelu (Retired Principal), Kandasamy (Sivakantha Stores, Jaffna), the late Kamalathevi, Mahadevan, Yogeswaran, and also of Tharmarajah (Rajah Groceried, Vavuniya) and Pushpadevi,
Affectionate grandfather of Mathura, Mayura, Cheliyan, Sarujan, Vasini (Arulini), Aathavan, Aharan and Arunan.
His remains were kept for viewing on Thursday, September 10, 2020, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by Funeral and Final Rites ceremonies from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, with Cremation occurring at 5:00 PM.
