யாழ். தெல்லிப்பழை வீமன்காமத்தைப் பிறப்பிடமாகவும், பம்பலப்பிட்டியை வசிப்பிடமாகவும் கொண்ட வேலாயுதபிள்ளை கந்தசாமி அவர்கள் 17-10-2022 திங்கட்கிழமை அன்று இறைபாதம் அடைந்தார்.
அன்னார், காலஞ்சென்ற வேலாயுதபிள்ளை, இளையபிள்ளை தம்பதிகளின் அன்பு மகனும்,
காலஞ்சென்ற நவாலியூர் நடராசா, பரமேஸ்வரி அன்பு மருமகனும்,
காலஞ்சென்ற ஹேமமாலினி கந்தசாமி(ஆசிரியை- கொ/ மெதடிஸ்த கல்லூரி) அவர்களின் அன்புக் கணவரும்,
செந்தூரன்(கட்டார்), ஐஸ்வர்யா(கனடா), Dr. விஜயபாரதி(லண்டன்), காலஞ்சென்ற ஐனார்த்தன் ஆகியோரின் அன்புத் தந்தையும்,
காலா, கோகுலன், சங்கர், சிந்துப்பிரியா ஆகியோரின் அன்பு மாமனாரும்,
எலிஷான், யுவான், சாதூரியா, ரையான் ஜனா ஆகியோரின் பாசமிகு தாத்தாவும்,
கமலாதேவி, Prof. Dr மணிவாசகர், காலஞ்சென்றவர்களான லோகேஸ்வரி, அருணகிரி, பாலச்சந்திரன், பரமசிவன் ஆகியோரின் அன்புச் சகோதரரும் ஆவார்.
இவ் அறிவித்தலை உற்றார், உறவினர், நண்பர்கள் அனைவரும் ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளுமாறு கேட்டுக்கொள்கின்றோம்.

It is with great sadness we inform you that Mr. Kanthasamy Velauthapillai (Kantha) Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), relative and an old student of Union College has attained the lotus feet of God on Monday, october17th 2022, at the age of 78 in London- UK.
He is the eldest son of late Teacher Annamali Velauthaplillai and late Ealayapillai of Veemankamam North Tellippalai,
The beloved husband of the late Hemamalini,
The loving father of Senthuran (Doha), Iswariya Gohulan (Canada), Dr. Vijayabarathy Shankar (UK) and late Janarthanan,
The brother of late Logeswary, Kamaladevy Arumaithurai (Canada), late Arunakiri, Dr. Manivasagar, late Balachchandran, late Paramasivam, and late Keetheeswaran.
Mr. V. Kanthasamy was a star athlete at Union College and held the record for 110-yard hurdles.
His brothers, Professor Dr. Manivasagar Velauthapillai (Jaffna University) and the late Arunakiri Velauthapillai, were old students of Union College.
We extend our deepest condolences to his children, grandchildren, in-laws, siblings, friends and relatives at this difficult time.
